Peach cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- canned peaches, drained - 1 qt
- water
- sugar
- Clear Jell - 7 Tbsp
- apricot or peach Jell-O - 1/3 c
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- flour
- salt
- baking powder
- shortening - 3/4 c
- milk this may vary - 1 c
How to make peach cobbler:
Biscuit Top:3 3/4 c. flour4 1/2 Tbsp. sugar1 1/2 tsp. salt4 1/2 tsp. baking powder3/4 c. shortening1 c. milk (this may vary) Bring juice, water and sugar to boil. Then add cold water and Clear Jell to thicken. Boil 5 minutes. Add apricot or peach Jell-O, chopped peaches, salt and butter. Pour this in an empty standard cake pan.For Biscuit Top: Sift flour; measure sugar, salt and baking powder. Cut in shortening and mix like pie dough. Add milk. Mix until all flour is moistened. Press together real good and roll out a little thicker than pie dough and put on top of peaches in crisscross strips. Cut in squares and serve warm with milk. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
