Fresh coconut cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp
- + 3 Tbsp - 1 c
- Cream shortening and sugar
- grated fresh coconut - 1 c
- fresh coconut milk - 3 Tbsp
- large coconut, drained, cracked, meat peeled off and grated - 1 item
- egg yolks reserve whites for frosting - 3 item
- Cook over medium heat 5 to 10 minutes or until thickened
How to make fresh coconut cake:
Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks, milk and vanilla. Add all dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with milk. Grease 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350° until done.Filling (Between Layers):3/4Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Coconut.
