Pasta pizza
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 5 oz
- milk - 1/4 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/3 c
- Parmesan cheese - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef - 8 oz
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1 c
- crushed red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can Italian-style stewed tomatoes - 1 1/2
- jar sliced mushrooms, drained - 1 1/2
- dried Italian seasonings - 1/2 tsp
- medium green and/or yellow pepper, cut into 2-inch strips - 1 item
How to make pasta pizza:
Cook pasta; drain. Rinse with cold water; drain again. For pasta crust, in large mixing bowl, combine egg, milk and Parmesan cheese. Stir in pasta. Spread mixture evenly in greased 12-inch pizza pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.Meanwhile, in large skillet, cook ground beef, onion and garlic until meat is brown. Drain fat. Add pepper strips, undrained tomatoes (cut up any large tomatoes) and Italian seasoning to meat. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 12 minutes or until peppers are crisp-tender and most of the liquid is evaporated, stirring once or twice. Stir in mushrooms and crushed red pepper.
Spoon meat mixture over pasta crust. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake 10 to 12 minutes more or until heated through and cheese is melted. Makes 6 servings.
