Overnight layered salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- medium tomatoes - 2 item
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- mayonnaise
- seasoned salt - 1 tsp
- green onion - 1/2 c
- sliced celery - 1 c
- can water chestnuts - 1 oz
- hard-boiled eggs - 3 item
- bacon - 1/2 lb
- medium size iceberg lettuce - 1 item
How to make overnight layered salad:
Shred lettuce and place in shallow serving dish (about 4-quart size). Top with thinly sliced green onion, thinly sliced celery and water chestnuts (drained and sliced). Open package of frozen peas and break apart. Sprinkle peas over salad, then spread mayonnaise evenly over the top. Sprinkle with sugar, Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt and garlic powder. Cover and chill as long as 24 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped eggs and crisply fried and crumbled bacon.
