Ingredients/Components
- round steak, cut into small cubes - 3 lb
- sliced carrots - 4 c
- diced celery - 2 c
- sliced onions - 4 item
- each - 2 cans
- plus 2 Tbsp - 1/4 c
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- Burgundy wine - 2 c
How to make oven stew:
In roasting pan or Dutch oven, mix meat, carrots, celery, onions, water chestnuts and mushrooms. Mix flour, sugar and salt. Stir into meat mixture. Add tomatoes and wine. Cover and bake for 4 hours at 350°. Check for tenderness.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Stew.
