Orange prune bread
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- white sugar
- orange juice - 1 c
- chopped nuts walnuts or pecans - 1 c
- chopped prunes - 2 c
How to make orange prune bread:
Pour 1 cup of boiling orange juice over prunes; let stand for 15 minutes. Cream sugar and shortening, then add eggs and stir well. Add prune mixture, flour, salt and soda; mix well, then add the nuts. Pour into 2 well-greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Quick breads.
