Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- coconut - 1 c
- melted margarine - 5 Tbsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- hot water
- oatmeal - 1 c
- cream or canned milk - 1/4 c
How to make oatmeal cake:
Cream together oatmeal and hot water and let stand 20 minutes. Mix Crisco, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla and add oatmeal, flour, nutmeg, salt and soda. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Top with margarine, brown sugar, milk, coconut and pecans. Spread on cake and bake 10 minutes.
