  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item
  • old fashioned oats - 1 c
  • Mix the next 5 ingredients

How to make oatmeal cake:

Pour the boiling water over the oats; let stand 20 minutes. Mix the next 5 ingredients. Stir in the oats and remaining ingredients. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Topping:1 c. brown sugar4 Tbsp. butter1/4 c. milk1 c. coconut Boil 1 minute. Put on cake and place under broiler until golden brown.
