  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • coconut - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • quick oats - 1 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

While cake is baking, melt butter; add brown sugar, milk, coconut, nuts and vanilla. When cake is done and still hot, pour over cake and return to broiler to brown for just a minute.
