  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • boiling water
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • Cream sugars and butter
  • Milnot or canned milk - 1/4 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Stir quick oats into water and set aside. Cream sugars and butter. Add hot oats. Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, salt, soda, cocoa and cinnamon. Add alternately with oat mixture. Blend well after each addition. Spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with Pam and pour batter into pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Do not overbake.Topping:2 Tbsp. butter, melted1/2 c. brown sugar1/4 c. Milnot or canned milk Put ingredients into saucepan and bring to boil. Stir in 1 cup Angel Flake coconut, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on cake as soon as taken from oven and put under broiler until topping starts bubbling and browning slightly.
