  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda
  • boiling water
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • canned milk - 1/4 c
  • can coconut - 1 item
  • Let cool
  • can walnuts - 1 item

How to make oatmeal cake:

Add oatmeal to boiling water, add shortening. Let cool. Then add sugar and eggs, beat well. Sift together dry ingredients, then add to mixture. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.Topping:1/4 c. melted butter1/4 c. canned milk2/3 c. brown sugar1 can coconut1 can walnuts Mix and spread on cake, then put cake back into the oven and brown.
