Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda
- boiling water
- shortening - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- canned milk - 1/4 c
- can coconut - 1 item
- Let cool
- can walnuts - 1 item
How to make oatmeal cake:
Add oatmeal to boiling water, add shortening. Let cool. Then add sugar and eggs, beat well. Sift together dry ingredients, then add to mixture. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.Topping:1/4 c. melted butter1/4 c. canned milk2/3 c. brown sugar1 can coconut1 can walnuts Mix and spread on cake, then put cake back into the oven and brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
