  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • canned milk - 1/2 c
  • boiling water, cooled
  • Add to shortening, eggs and sugars mixture

How to make oatmeal cake:

Sift together flour, salt, nutmeg, soda and cinnamon. Add to shortening, eggs and sugars mixture. Stir in oatmeal and chopped nuts. Bake in 350° oven. Allow to cool before spreading on topping.Topping:4 Tbsp. butter1/2 c. canned milk1/2 tsp. vanilla1 c. coconut Mix. Put under broiler until slightly browned. Leave broiler door partly open while broiling.
