Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- canned milk - 1/2 c
- boiling water, cooled
- Add to shortening, eggs and sugars mixture
How to make oatmeal cake:
Sift together flour, salt, nutmeg, soda and cinnamon. Add to shortening, eggs and sugars mixture. Stir in oatmeal and chopped nuts. Bake in 350° oven. Allow to cool before spreading on topping.Topping:4 Tbsp. butter1/2 c. canned milk1/2 tsp. vanilla1 c. coconut Mix. Put under broiler until slightly browned.
