- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- water
- coconut
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- canned milk
- Icing:1 stick margarine
How to make oatmeal cake:
Icing:1 stick margarine1 c. brown sugar1 1/2 c. canned milk1 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts Bring the water to a boil and add the oatmeal and salt. Cook until thick. Stir the sugars and the oil together. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add oats to sugar mixture; mix well, then add dry mixture. Add the well beaten eggs. Bake in a sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 35 minutes. Let cool and pour icing over cake.Icing: Bring to a boil the margarine, sugar, milk and vanilla. Boil 10 to 15 minutes. Add coconut and nuts.
