- boiling water
- quick oats - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter
- milk - 4 tsp
- plus 1 tsp - 3 Tbsp
- nuts and/or coconut - 1 item
How to make oatmeal cake:
Topping:4 tsp. butter4 tsp. milk3 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. brown sugar nuts and/or coconut Pour boiling water over oats; let stand 20 minutes. Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs; beat well.
