Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1 tsp
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- stick margarine or butter - 1 item
- In separate bowl, cream margarine and sugars
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oats; let stand 20 minutes. In separate bowl, cream margarine and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg. Add oat mixture. Mix together flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla; mix well. Bake at 350° in a 9 x 13-inch pan for 30 to 35 minutes.Topping:1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. butter1 c. coconut Cream together. Pour over warm cake.
