- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
How to make navajo fry bread:
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add 1/4 cup milk and mix well. Add the rest of the milk a little at a time. Knead the dough until it is soft. Cover the bowl and let it stand for 15 minutes. Make balls 2 or 3 inches across and roll them into pancakes 1/4 inch thick. Poke holes in them with a fork. Melt shortening in skillet.
