Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • light molasses - 1 c
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item
  • cold, strong coffee - 3/4 c

How to make molasses cookies:

Thoroughly cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients with coffee. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
