Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk
  • nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
  • cream - 1/2 c
  • hot water - 1 c
  • sweet chocolate - 1/4 lb
  • cinnamon sticks 2 1/2 inches long - 8 item

How to make mexican hot chocolate:

Combine chocolate and hot water in top of double boiler; melt over hot water. Stir.

In 3 quart saucepan, combine milk, cream, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat with rotary beater or wire whisk until well combined. Over medium heat, heat milk mixture until bubbles form around edge of pan. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla. Beat with rotary beater until foamy. Serve with cinnamon stick in each cup. Makes 6 servings.
