Chocolate caramels
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- chopped nuts - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- corn syrup - 1 c
- unsweetened chocolate - 3 sq
- cream - 1 c
How to make chocolate caramels:
Cut chocolate in small pieces. Add sugar, butter or margarine, salt, syrup and cream. Cover and boil 5 minutes. Uncover. Boil slowly, stirring constantly, to firm ball stage. Remove from heat. Add flavoring and stir until blended. Pour quickly over nuts which have been placed in a well buttered pan. When cool, cut in squares.Recipe categories: Chocolate, Broil/grill, < 30 mins.
