How to make mexican fried chicken:

Mash garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until pasty. Rub chicken with mixture. Arrange chicken in a shallow dish and sprinkle with lime juice and onion. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, turning meat occasionally. Remove chicken from marinade and pat dry.

Heat oil in skillet until hot, then decrease heat to medium. Mix flour, 1 teaspoon salt and the chili powder. Coat chicken with flour mixture. Place in skillet, skin side down. Cover and let cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and cook for 15 minutes. Turn chicken; cover and cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and cook until thickest parts are done, about 10 to 15 minutes. Drain and serve.
