- sour cream
- salt
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- melted butter - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- packaged bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- medium potatoes, peeled 9 - 3 lb
How to make make ahead mashed potatoes:
Cook potatoes in boiling water until tender; drain. Combine potatoes, sour cream, butter, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Beat on low until light and fluffy. Pile lightly into a buttered 2-quart casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake covered at 325° for 1 hour. Toss bread crumbs in 1 tablespoon butter. Sprinkle over potatoes.
