Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 gal
- vinegar
- celery seed
- turmeric
- mustard seeds - 2 Tbsp
- lime - 2 c
- cucumbers, sliced crosswise - 7 lb
How to make lime pickles:
Syrup:2 qt. vinegar4 1/4 lb. sugar1 tsp. salt Soak cucumbers in lime and water for 24 hours. Rinse 3 times and then soak 3 hours in ice water. Pour syrup over cucumbers and let sit overnight. Add turmeric, celery seed and mustard seeds, tied in white cloth. Bring to a boil and let boil for 35 minutes. Put in jars and seal.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Fruit, Appetizers.
