- sugar - 6 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 4 c
- celery seed - 1 Tbsp
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric - 1/2 tsp
- green tomatoes - 10 item
- red bell peppers - 6 item
- green bell peppers - 12 item
- ground onions - 4 c
How to make chow-chow:
Grind vegetables. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt. Let stand overnight; rinse and drain. Combine remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; simmer for 3 minutes. Seal in hot jars.Recipe categories: American, Vegetables, North american.
