Ingredients/Components
- split or whole brown lentils - 1 c
- water
- uncooked rice - 1/4 c
- onion, coarsely chopped - 1 lg
- Salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- olive oil - 1/2 c
How to make lentil soup:
Rinse and drain lentils. Place in pan with water. Cook for 15 minutes. Add rice. Meanwhile while cooking lentils, saute onions in olive oil till golden.Add onions and olive oil to the rice and lentils. Cook for 20 minutes or until tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 6.
