- juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- hot milk
- milk - 6 c
- lemons - 4 item
- eggs - 12 item
- stick butter - 1 item
How to make lemon sponge pie:
4 Pies:3/4 c. flour6 c. milk4 c. sugar4 lemons12 eggs2 tsp. salt1 stick butter Cream the butter; add sugar and egg yolks. Beat well. Add flour, salt, lemon juice and rind. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into unbaked pie shells and bake 40 to 45 minutes at 325°. Makes a 19-inch pie.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
