- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- cocoa - 3/4 c
- confectioners sugar - 1 item
- buttermilk - 2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- Add cocoa
How to make chocolate cake:
Blend first three ingredients. Add cocoa. Add eggs, one at a time. Add soda, salt and vanilla. Alternate flour and buttermilk, starting with flour. Bake in a 13 x 9-inch greased and floured pan at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes.Icing:1/2 c. cocoa1/2 stick butter1/3 c. milk confectioners sugar Heat cocoa, butter and milk.
