  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3/4 c
  • vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 5 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • lemon flavoring - 2 tsp

How to make lemon sauce:

Beat eggs. Mix flour and sugar and add to beaten eggs. If mixture is too thick to stir, add a little water. Pour boiling water over the mixture a cupful at a time until you have used 5 cups. Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened, beating with a rotary beater while cooking. Add the butter while it is hot. Add flavoring and salt. Serve warm or cold.

To make half this amount, cut ingredients in half.
