Lemon sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 5 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- lemon flavoring - 2 tsp
How to make lemon sauce:
Beat eggs. Mix flour and sugar and add to beaten eggs. If mixture is too thick to stir, add a little water. Pour boiling water over the mixture a cupful at a time until you have used 5 cups. Cook over medium heat until slightly thickened, beating with a rotary beater while cooking. Add the butter while it is hot. Add flavoring and salt. Serve warm or cold.To make half this amount, cut ingredients in half.
