  • sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • unbeaten eggs - 2 item
  • maraschino cherries, drained and chopped - 1/2 c
  • grated rind of 1 lemon save the juice

How to make lemon nut bread:

Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 60 minutes or until done. When fresh from oven, pour over 1/4 cup sugar mixed with the juice from the lemon.
