  • cinnamon - 1 tsp

  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
  • butter cold - 1/4 c
  • pie filling lemon dessert mix - 1 item

How to make lemon coffee cake:

Topping:1/2 c. all-purpose flour1/2 c. sugar1/4 c. butter (cold)1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 c. nuts, chopped Prepare lemon pie filling according to recipe on label; cool. Combine next 6 ingredients in a bowl. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into vanilla mixture. Spread half of the dough in a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Spread lemon filling over dough. Top with remaining dough, spreading with wet knife, if necessary, to smooth dough.

Topping: With pastry blender, work remaining ingredients until mixture resembles crumbs. Sprinkle topping over dough layer. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until topping is golden. Cool to room temperature or chill, if desired. Makes 1 cake (18 to 24 servings).
