- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- lemon juice
- grated lemon rind - 2 3
How to make lemon bread:
Glaze:3 Tbsp. lemon juice1/4 c. sugar In small bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and milk. Mix slowly. Add flour mixture and then add grated lemon rind. Pour into greased and floured bread pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes. Pierce bread with skewer or fork.
