Jumbo raisin cookies

sugar
cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1 tsp
flour
water - 1 c
nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
baking powder - 1 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
raisins - 2 c
nuts, chopped - 1/2 c

How to make jumbo raisin cookies:

Boil raisins and water for 2 minutes. Do not drain; set aside to cool. Mix dry ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add cooled raisins and dry ingredients. Stir in nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes, until done and lightly browned. Cool; cover in airtight container.
