Raisin cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1 tsp
• flour
• water - 1 c
• nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
• eggs, beaten - 2 item
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• shortening - 1 c
• raisins - 2 c
• nuts, chopped - 1/2 c

How to make raisin cookies:

Combine raisins and water in saucepan and bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Let cool (do not drain), cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and vanilla; combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and blend thoroughly. Stir in nuts and raisins. Drop by teaspoonful 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes.
