Jumbo raisin cookies

cup water - 1 item
cups raisins - 2 item
cup shortening - 1 item
cups sugar - 2 item
eggs, beaten well - 3 item
baking powder - 1 tsp
soda - 1 tsp
cinnamon
nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
allspice - 1/4 tsp
Pinch salt - 1 item
cup chopped nuts - 1 item

How to make jumbo raisin cookies:

Add water to raisins and boil 5 minutes, cool. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt. Mix well and add chopped nuts. Chill dough; drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
