Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • cornstarch
  • water - 1/2 c
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • baking powder - 3/4 tsp
  • egg whites - 4 item
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
  • cake flour - 3/4 c
  • Dream Whip - 1 pkg

How to make jelly roll:

Filling:2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch3/4 c. sugar dash of salt1/2 c. water3 Tbsp. lemon juice1 Tbsp. butter1 pkg. Dream Whip Beat egg yolks until light colored. Beat in sugar very slowly. Add vanilla. Sift flour before measuring the cake flour. Resift measured cake flour with baking powder. Gradually beat flour into egg yolks. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into cake batter. Spread on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Bake 13 minutes at 375°. Sprinkle powdered sugar on tea towel. Peel off wax paper from cake. Roll tight in towel and let cool. Unroll cake and spread with filling and re-roll. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Filling: Mix in pan cornstarch, sugar, salt, water, lemon juice and butter. Cook slowly until thick. When cool, fold in package prepared Dream Whip.
