Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- raisins - 1 lb
- cloves - 1 Tbsp
- jam - 2 c
- allspice - 1 Tbsp
- thin cream - 3/4 c
- sour milk or cream - 1 c
How to make jam cake:
Caramel Icing:2 c. brown sugar3/4 c. thin cream1/8 tsp. salt Mix all cake ingredients and pour into greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake for about 2 hours at 275°. (Put pan of water in oven to keep from drying out.)Caramel Icing: Combine ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, until it boils, about 10 to 12 minutes. Do not stir after the mixture starts boiling. When it will form a soft ball in cold water, remove from heat. Let stand until warm, then beat until right to spread. If too hard, add more cream, small amount at a time.
