Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- stick margarine - 1 item
- brown sugar
- butter - 2/3 c
- cornstarch
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda
- buttermilk - 1 c
- Crisco - 1/3 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- jam - 1 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- Sift dry ingredients together; add to batter
How to make jam cake:
Mix eggs, sugar and buttermilk and stir well. Sift dry ingredients together; add to batter. Mix well and add 1 cup jam. Line pan and bake 1 hour in 300° oven.Whipped Cream Icing:1 c. milk1/4 tsp. salt1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch1 stick margarine1/3 c. Crisco1 c. sugar Cook milk, salt and cornstarch until thick. Cool. Blend margarine, Crisco and sugar with mixer until fluffy. Add cold milk mixture and beat with mixer 15 minutes until smooth and fluffy. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
