Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla
- flour - 1 c
- water - 2 Tbsp
- almond extract - 2 tsp
- margarine
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- slivered almonds - 1 item
- softened margarine - 1/2 c
- Round into a ball; divide in half
How to make danish puff:
Filling:1/2 c. margarine1 c. water2 tsp. almond extract3 eggs1 c. flour Crust: Cut butter into 1 cup flour; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water. Round into a ball; divide in half. On ungreased sheet, make two long rolls; push out flat and oblong (12 x 3-inches). Place about 3 inches apart so they don't bake together. Set aside.Filling: Heat butter and water to rolling boil; remove from heat. Stir in almond extract and flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until it forms a ball (clings together), about 1 minute. (Fork works fine.) Take off heat; beat in eggs until glossy. Divide mixture in half; spread over each crust out to sides, or it will shrink. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes. Will turn golden brown. Cool; ice and sprinkle with slivered almonds. Use Sugar Glaze to ice.Sugar Glaze For Danish Puff:1 1/2 c. powdered sugar2 Tbsp. margarine1 1/2 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. warm water slivered almonds Beat together all but almonds until smooth. Spread on baked puffs.
