Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 2 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- corn syrup - 3 4
- pecans - 1 c
- cloves - 2 tsp
- allspice - 2 tsp
- box raisins - 1 item
- English walnuts - 1 c
- jam 1 c - 2 c
- Add eggs and beat well
- Beat until cool; spread on cake layers
How to make jam cake:
Cream sugar and butter well; add jam and beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour, soda, salt and spices; sift together alternately with milk. Put a little flour on nuts and raisins; fold in cake batter. Bake at 350° in 3 or 4 pans.Filling:6 Tbsp. batter from cake before cooking2 c. sugar1/2 c. butter1 tsp. vanilla Cook slowly until thickens. Beat until cool; spread on cake layers.Caramel Icing:2 c. sugar1 tsp. soda1/2 stick margarine1/2 c. buttermilk3 or 4 Tbsp. corn syrup Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Mix together.
