  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • butter - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 2 tsp
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • corn syrup - 3 4
  • pecans - 1 c
  • cloves - 2 tsp
  • allspice - 2 tsp
  • box raisins - 1 item
  • English walnuts - 1 c
  • jam 1 c - 2 c
  • Add eggs and beat well
  • Beat until cool; spread on cake layers

How to make jam cake:

Cream sugar and butter well; add jam and beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour, soda, salt and spices; sift together alternately with milk. Put a little flour on nuts and raisins; fold in cake batter. Bake at 350° in 3 or 4 pans.Filling:6 Tbsp. batter from cake before cooking2 c. sugar1/2 c. butter1 tsp. vanilla Cook slowly until thickens. Beat until cool; spread on cake layers.Caramel Icing:2 c. sugar1 tsp. soda1/2 stick margarine1/2 c. buttermilk3 or 4 Tbsp. corn syrup Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Mix together. Cook until light brown; add butter and beat until thick. Spread on top of cake. Also add vanilla.
