Jalapeno cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- small onion, diced - 1/2 item
- ground chuck - 1 lb
- cornbread mix - 1 pkg
- jalapeno pepper, chopped - 1 item
- small can creamed corn - 1 item
- small amount garlic powder - 1 item
How to make jalapeno cornbread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Brown meat, onion, salt, pepper and garlic. Dice pepper. Mix all ingredients except meat and cheese. Grease 9-inch cast-iron skillet and heat in oven. Place 1/2 of cornbread mixture in hot skillet. Add meat, then cheese. Top with remaining cornbread mixture.
