Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- flour - 3 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- Crisco oil
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- softened oleo - 1/2 c
- can undrained crushed pineapple - 1 oz
- chopped bananas do not mash - 2 c
- Add Crisco oil, vanilla, crushed pineapple undrained and bananas; mix well
How to make hummingbird cake:
In large bowl, beat eggs real good. Add Crisco oil, vanilla, crushed pineapple (undrained) and bananas; mix well. Mix together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients; do not beat. Mix just enough to wet dry ingredients. Makes 3 (9-inch) layers. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened1/2 c. softened oleo1 tsp. vanilla1 box powdered sugar chopped nuts Beat cream cheese and butter well. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Spread on cooled cake. Spread chopped nuts between layers and on top. If it starts to get too thick, add more milk.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
