Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 2 c
- plain flour
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- box powdered sugar, sifted - 1 item
- Add eggs and beat well
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring; beat well. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternating with milk. Add vanilla; beat well. Pour into cake pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Icing:1 stick oleo1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 tsp. vanilla1 box powdered sugar, sifted1 c. chopped nuts Cream oleo and cheese.
