Hot roll mix
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- hot water - 2 c
- dry yeast
- Crisco, melted - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour add more if needed - 5 c
How to make hot roll mix:
Put warm water into a bowl; add egg, salt, Crisco and sugar and dissolve well. Make sure mixture is warm. Add yeast that has been dissolved in the warm water for about 3 minutes. Add flour a small amount at a time; mix well. Let set 5 minutes. Put on floured board or table on wax paper and knead. Make into rolls; let rise about 25 to 30 minutes. Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes or until done. Brush with melted butter.Note: This makes good donuts, cinnamon rolls and sweet rolls.
