Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 6 Tbsp
- hot water - 1 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 3 to
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 3 Tbsp
How to make refrigerator rolls:
Combine hot water, salt, shortening and sugar in large bowl. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, softened in lukewarm water. Add egg and half of flour; beat well. Stir in remaining flour to make easily handled dough. Brush top of dough with salad oil. Cover; store in refrigerator.As needed, shape into balls and let rise for 1 1/2 hours or until double in bulk. Roll out; cut into triangles and roll into crescent rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes. (Dough will keep in fridge in covered container for several days.)
