Hot five-bean salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- salt
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- slices bacon - 8 item
- can garbanzo beans - 1 oz
- can lima beans - 1 lb
- can dark red kidney beans - 1 oz
- can cut green beans - 1 lb
- can cut wax beans - 1 lb
How to make hot five-bean salad:
In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 1/4 cup drippings. Return reserved drippings to skillet. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Blend into drippings. Stir until boiling. Drain all beans. Stir into skillet. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Turn into serving dish. Crumble bacon over top.
