Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • honey - 1/3 c
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • soy sauce
  • dry sherry - 1 Tbsp
  • oil for frying - 1 item
  • grated fresh ginger - 1 tsp
  • chicken breasts, skinned, split and boned - 2 lb
  • sesame seeds do not add to glaze - 2 Tbsp

How to make honeyed chicken teriyaki:

Glaze1/3 c. soy sauce1/3 c. honey1 Tbsp. dry sherry1 clove garlic, minced1 tsp. grated fresh ginger2 Tbsp. sesame seeds (do not add to glaze) Cut chicken in 2inch squares. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Dip chicken in eggs, then in flour mixture. Pour 1/2 inch oil in skillet, when hot fry chicken until brown. Allow 6 - 8 minutes for larger pieces. Meanwhile, heat soy sauce, honey, sherry, garlic and ginger. Remove chicken from oil and drain, dip in honey mixture and place on rack set in baking pan, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 20 minutes at 250°, brushing with glaze after first 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
