Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- powdered sugar - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 2/3 c
- food coloring - 1 item
- dram Lorann flavoring oil any flavor - 1 item
How to make hard candy:
Mix first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310° or until drops of syrup form hard, brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat.After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour onto a foil lined that has been sprinkled heavily with powdered sugar. Cool and break into pieces. Store in airtight containers. Makes 2 pounds.
