Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk
  • sour cream - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • butter or oleo - 1/2 c
  • paprika - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped onion
  • bread crumbs - 3/4 c
  • chopped parsley - 3 Tbsp
  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 lb
  • ground chuck - 3 lb
  • beef stock or bouillon cubes and water - 3 c

How to make hamburger stroganoff:

Beat eggs; add milk, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Let stand a few minutes. Add parsley and beef. Mix and shape in balls and brown in half the butter. Remove from pan.

In the same pan, melt remaining butter; add onions, mushrooms and paprika and brown slightly. Stir in flour to coat vegetables and brown 2 to 3 minutes more. Gradually add beef stock, stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire, salt and pepper to taste. Return beef to sauce. Cover and cook slowly 30 minutes. Add sour cream to sauce just before serving. Serve over noodles.
