Hamburger soup

Ingredients/Components

• salt - 2 tsp
• shortening - 2 Tbsp
• pepper - 1/8 tsp
• chopped onion - 1/2 c
• hamburger - 1 lb
• celery, chopped - 1/2 c
• rice - 1/4 c
• cubed potatoes - 2 c
• tomatoes - 2 c
• medium carrots, diced - 2 item

How to make hamburger soup:

Brown meat and onion lightly in shortening in a large pot. Add the other ingredients and 1 1/2 quarts water. Simmer slowly for an hour. Put in jars and cold pack for 1 hour. Add milk or water when you open jars and heat.
