  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • catsup - 1/4 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese 2 oz - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • instant minced onion - 1 Tbsp
  • instant potatoes for 8 servings

How to make hamburger pie:

Heat oven to 350°. Mix meat, 1 1/3 cups of the instant potatoes (dry), egg, salt, pepper, onion, catsup and milk. Spread in ungreased pie pan (9 x 1 1/2-inch). Bake, uncovered, for 35 to 40 minutes. Prepare remaining instant potatoes as directed on package for 4 servings. Top baked meat loaf with mashed potatoes; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 3 to 4 minutes longer, or until cheese melts.
