Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • cracker crumbs - 1/2 c
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • rice - 1/2 c
  • can tomatoes - 1 item
  • large cabbage leaves - 8 item
  • garlic powder to taste - 1 item
  • minced onions to taste - 1 item
  • thyme and oregano - 1 tsp

How to make cabbage rolls:

Boil cabbage leaves in water to cover in saucepan until tender; drain and set aside. Combine the next 7 ingredients in bowl with enough tomato sauce to moisten; mix well. Roll meat mixture in cabbage leaves. Place in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over cabbage rolls. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
