Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- cracker crumbs - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- rice - 1/2 c
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- large cabbage leaves - 8 item
- garlic powder to taste - 1 item
- minced onions to taste - 1 item
- thyme and oregano - 1 tsp
How to make cabbage rolls:
Boil cabbage leaves in water to cover in saucepan until tender; drain and set aside. Combine the next 7 ingredients in bowl with enough tomato sauce to moisten; mix well. Roll meat mixture in cabbage leaves. Place in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over cabbage rolls.
